I no longer have to have a "L" plate on Trude ... she did fab (with a little help from me) and we passed with flying colours yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee - so all going according to plan I can sit my full licence in 6 months time. My Craig bought me flowers to congratulate me ... what a darling, nearly made me bawl! God I feel so loved, supported and special at the moment - exactly what I need in this stressful time!
I dont half put myself under pressure do I? See thats typical of me ... while I'm busying myself doing everything else (motorcycling, studying, our future dreams), I dont have to focus on my real issue i.e. weight! - thats really been the story of my life which probably explains why I got to the weight I did. I see other people doing it all the time. They are the most kindest, heart warming friends and family - always ready to do something for anyone, putting everyone elses needs first ... and the result - they neglect themselves and its not just about weight, its about all sorts of things like leisure, luxury and mental and physical health. Maybe its just a woman thing, maybe its just that we care too much, maybe we are programmed to be like that.
PUT YOURSELF FIRST and everyone around you will benefit from it. You deserve it and so do they.
Ok so bootcamp Leenie is going great. My new diet plan is going to be having replacement shakes for meals. I actually started today, replace lunch with a shake and a piece of fruit. Next week I'll replace two meals - havent decided which two yet but I'll also be drinking my water and eating fruit during the day for snacks. It's pretty drastic, I've never done that before, always thought it was the wrong way to diet because it doesnt teach you to eat properly, but I guess my case is a bit different now ... I know how to eat well, I just need to drop the last few kilos and its only for 3 weeks! The replacement shakes are Healtheries Naturally Slim formula.
Lyn I'm basically eating detox now! Apart from the chicken and fish your detox diet is pretty much what I'm eating now. I did look at the combination of supplements which goes with the detox and some of the things in there are not recommended pre surgery (fennel and licorice I believe) - so I dont want to jeapordise anything there. I bet its working fantastically though ... I remember doing a detox/parasite cleanse back in March and it was great, didnt lose any weight, but felt really good after the 7 days.
Breakfast - millet seed, 2tsps LSA, yoghurt
Lunch - Chocolate shake, 60gms raw cashews, pear
Dinner - 120gms chicken, vege stirfry
Snacks - apple
Water - 3.5ltrs
Exercise - 40mins cardio @ gym, 1hr walking this afternoon

YAY no more L plates!!!!!!!
I had no doubt you would get it.
The shakes sound like a good idea and as you say, its only for 3 weeks.
I also thought to suggest the detox but when I look at what you eat, it is basically a detox.
Good luck for the next 3 weeks.
yayyyy on losing the L plate.
And if that meal replacement shake leaves you feeling starved I use optifast meal replacements as they are the only one's that actually make me feel full and engerized.
They are a low carb shake and come in a few different flavours although after only taking vanilla for ages I'm now trying chocolate and don't think I'll be going back to vanilla any time soon.
WELL DONE on passing your test and sorry about missing coffee this morning!
Full credit to you for your committment on the bootcamp!!
Also well done on losing the L plate! Good to be back (well not really) but great to see how everyone is going.
Ahhh good point, didn't think of that (pre-surgery). I'm sure the shakes will do the trick!!
Good luck with the shakes. Actually I've been doing a total abstinence meal replacement programme since March. Like you, I was always really sceptical about them before. But it got to the point where I needed results too quickly for a healthy eating approach. I also think I knew how to eat healthily as I'd stopped gaining weight - I just found it difficult to drop calories enough to lose any...
Anyway, I wouldn't say it was a good idea for everyone but it has worked for me. For you - the 3 weeks shouldn't be too difficult.
Good luck!
