Sunday, 5th March

Another day in paradise.

The boys went out fishing again this morning, but unfortunately no luck this time.

Sandie and I again, just lazed around in our PJ's, had breakkie, sat in the sun!!!! It was a bloody cold night - I must remember to pack my thermals for next year - gorgeous during the day 23-28C but this morning it dropped to 5C!!!!!!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRR

Sandie packed up her tent around 10 and left soon after the boys arrived back from fishing. We had such a lovely time with her - she is such a kind considerate person. She'll be back next year with us!

Soon after she left Andy suggested we go for a drive to Battle Hill Forest Park - it's just south of Tairua and is a series of bush walks through the forest to various yesteryear mining camps. We wandered around the bush for a couple of hours! Found old mining shafts - water races and excavated tunnels - it was really interesting. We took torches so we couold go through the tunnels and caves. One cave was full of Weta's! EWWWWWWWWWWW I didnt hang around too long - they were huge, a bit different to the usual wetas you see around as they had REALLY LONGGGGGGGGGGG LEGS EWWWWWWWWWW LOL In saying that tho, man this country is beautiful! We wouldnt have known that place even existed if Andy hadnt told us about it! We saw a guy fishing the river for trout, he even caught one while we were watching - it was tiny and he threw it back - good lad. I love being fit and being able to enjoy things like this now.

On our way back to camp we stopped for Icecreams - IT WAS ICECREAM O'CLOCK! lol and also some wine *wink*. The boys went out fishing again - WOOHOO ME TIME! I've been lazing this afternoon reading the paper and started a new book. I finished The Di Vinchi Code - fantastic reading - the first book I've read in ages.

So it's just me - writing my update, having a couple of wines and some chippies - what decadence!

Lamb & Pork steaks for dinner tonight. Andy's last night - he is leaving first thing tomorrow and going back to Wellington.

While I love seeing our friends - it's always nice to have time to ourselves also.

Craig is talking about going fishing tomorrow morning - so I think I'll tag along and go over to Whiti for some shopping and REAL coffee - WOOHOO!

Oh yeah ... got a txt from Karen - she's preggers WOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!
