Reached a couple of new milestones over the last 24 hours! :D
I slept in bed ... all night ... yahoooooooooooooooooo! I slept in our spare double bed, its a lot more softer than our bed. I managed to sleep on both sides and my back and was able to sit up and move around ok. There were times when it was uncomfortable - not painful, just uncomfortable but I was able to move myself around and get reasonably comfortable. Very excited about that. We've also noticed it has helped reduce some of my swelling ... my belly is starting to flatten out and my legs arent so swollen YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
The other thing is ... I pulled a drain out this morning. It didnt hurt and I didnt faint! LOL I was sitting on the loo this morning and we measured the output and I said to Craig lets pull it. So I asked him to grab some scissors to snip the tape and by the time he'd come back I'd slipped it out. I'd never in a millions years thought I'd be doing this kinda stuff LMAO! Even Craig was surprised at how well WE have both managed this process - its not the most pleasant thing emptying drains, taping and untaping wounds, patching weeping drains and incisions with sanitary pads, washing fannies and bums and pulling drains out of your body ... but we've done it and its been "ok" LOL It's probably how mothers cope with changing their babies shitty nappies and vomit, its not pleasant but you just get on and deal with it eh? LMAO
Ok so yesterday I did get through the shower and it was bloody wonderful as always - felt a million bucks afterwards. I baked a banana cake yesterday afternoon! LOL I've forgotten how much I miss baking - bad habit to slip into so best I dont do that too often. My girlfriend Sarah popped up for a couple of hours and we had a lovely catch up, then Craig's mum and dad came up for drinks and a chat. I still havent had any alcohol, I've thought about it, but decided I'd wait until I was just a little bit more steady on my feet - no point getting pissed as a parrot and falling over and hurting myself! So I'll wait until my birthday in a couple of weeks and then I might get tanked with my sister from Oz LOL - gives me something to look forward to LOL
Today my mum is picking me up and taking me to a family lunch. I have cousins out from England who I havent met with since I was a kid - apparently there are about 25 of us for lunch so it should be fun. I'll pobably be knackered by the end of it! 90% of the family havent seen me for a couple of years so I'm picking they are going to get a hell of a shock about my weightloss. Although I'll be wearing my potatoe sack skirt so most of my hard work will be hidden away :( Hopefully I wont be walking like an old lady with my drains tucked into a plastic bag LOL - regardless, it will be lovely just to get out of the house! :)
