I went to Hydrorobics at H20xtreme tonight. Rachel mentioned it in the weekend and I thought, well why not. It was fun, but I dont think its my cuppa tea for some reason, it felt like the water wasnt deep enough and my feet kept slipping on the bottom, maybe I wasnt working hard enough cos I didnt feel like it was a good cardio workout - but it was fun. Adds something a bit different to my routine and it wasnt expensive - $5.50. The people seemed really nice and the instructor was lovely! Definately something different and yep I'll do it again, but I dont think I'll be doing it 3 times a week! So thats something new I've tried now.
Next week I have access to a gym which has classes and I'm looking at the timetable -
- Wednesday morning at 6:15am there is a pilates class ... I've always wanted to have a go at pilates *tick*
- Wednesday afternoon at 5:30pm there is a Fight Do class - now the blurb on Fight Do says - Martial arts cardio workout. Boxing and Muay Thai knees kicks to knife strikes etc - improving fitness, co-ordination flexiblity and self confidence through defence awareness - suitable for all levels ... hmmmmmmm maybe not
- Wednesday evening at 6:30pm there is an X55 class - Extreme 55 minutes, all over body conditioning workout using a step and hand weights. Creating definition and strength - beginners to advanced *half tick*
- Thursday morning at 6:15am ... another X55 class ... *tick*
- Thursdsday afternoon at 5:30pm a Powerfit class - Powerfit, our weights programme using the 'giant set' loading format to build muscles also includes a cardio component to improve fitness and raise the intensity! Simplement movement for the highly unco-ordinated person - all levels welcome! *half tick* - sounds interesting I have no idea what a 'giant set' is! LOL
- Friday 6:15am is top ride - a session focussing on hill climbs to speed racing to create immediate results in fitness and strength through our high intensity cycle programme - beginners to advanced ... *half tick*
I'm going to sweat this lard off my arse thats for sure! The following weeks its kickboxing! WOOHOO.
Was at an offsiter today - didnt enjoy it at all, just felt like it was churning water and I kept thinking about all my work piling up back at the office. Did manage to send my tutor a draft of my second assignment for feedback, hopefully that will come back in the next day or so?
My eating is really erratic at the moment ... now this is a totally new concept for me but, I've noticed sometimes I've lost my appetite! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH - like this afternoon, I can a couple of nibbles with drinks after the day session and didnt feel like any dinner - went to hydrorobics and havent had any dinner ... which is really naughty - cos I need to keep feeding me! Yesterday, I didnt really eat lunch and I really just dont feel hungry! Thats so weird for me.
Bring on tomorrow - gym in the morning.
Food today:
Breakfast - cereal, yoghurt, banana, seeds
Lunch - salad, two pieces crumbed fried fish, chicken wing, 5 mini meatballs, banana
Dinner - 4 cruskits with peanut butter
Snacks - lemon poppyseed mini muffin, slice apple, pineapple, pear, watermelon, 5 mini spring rolls, two chunks brie cheese, gherkins
Water - 3ltrs

Great to try new things, I'm interested in pilates too, and want to give that a shot. For the aqua or hydro the water needs to be high chest height - so you may be a bit tall for that pool. Do they have an aqua deep class where you wear a belt, could be a better option for you. Also I've found some classes taper and they don't work you as intense, but in the deep each person can go at their own speed, keeping the legs and arms pumping as fast as you can.
have a great weekend.
Great seeing you last night, maybe Anne is right and the pool wasn't deep enough for you???? I do have lots of fun and must admit it is getting harder as I'm now learning how to work harder in the water (does that make sense?).
You are looking FAB so I can't wait to hear how your 'Hamish' visit went (as always).
Some of those classes you mentioned sound down right scary....LMAO.
Have fun trying out all the new things at the gym... aqua just doesn't do it for me either... if your feet slip on the bottom, it's worth getting aqua socks if you want to keep doing it. And it's a bit like most things, you get out of it what you put into it... it can be a good workout if you really push it. I just found it boring. Sad me.
