What a fantastic four days I've had!
Four fabulous days of great weather, lots of socialising, motorcycle riding, good food, plenty of exercise and not a scaric of chocolate easter eggs or hot cross buns in sight!
Friday started off like every Friday, Craig and I went to the gym! Long weekend didnt mean we were missing out on our Friday gym session. After sweating bucketloads we were home, breakfasting and off motorcycle riding (now theres a surprise). I did a run down to Eastbourne, the weather was awesome and I even bumped into someone from work who was quite taken aback seeing me on a motorcycle LOL was cool. I also popped into town and caught up with a girlfriend for a bite to eat - $12 for a chicken sandwhich and a green tea! Bloody public holiday surcharges are insane! We sat in the sun and gossiped for a couple of hours - bliss! Early night on Friday.
Saturday was another cracker day, I started it with a nice brisk walk with Jack for an hour. Craig even caught us up on his pushbike (affectionately known as goose) - Jack turned into a little shit after that and kept wanting to take off and run. We were then off down the markets for our fruit and veges, butcher was closed! Home to do some washing and then into the garden. I absolutely HATE gardening, but I spent three hours with my darling - ripping out roses, pruning vines and tree ferns and then tidying up some shrubs. We filled up the trailer and did a run down to the tip. Then it was ... yep you guessed it ... motorcycle riding time! Gotta take advantage of the weather when its good! I went down Eastbourne, stopped at a nice little cafe for a ham sammie and a cuppa green tea. Met a couple who were out motorcycling also and we got talking. Theres a NZ motorbike website they referred me to who go out on runs quite frequently, they also have "learner" runs so I might hook into that sometime. On Saturday night we went to the inlaws for a family dinner - it was yummo - roast turkey and steamed veges mmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmm I even resisted dessert! Craig's sister gave us both a small box of chockies and my darling has conveniently "put them away" for me. Love that man!
Sunday was another early rise and shine, this time Craig and I jumped on our pushbikes and rode down the riverbank to Stokes Valley, just a short ride of an hour as we had to be in town around 10:30 to meet up with a friend. She did her motorcycle basic handling skills cert at the same time as me, shes got a bike, but she doesnt have much confidence in riding as she lives in the middle of busy Wellington City. Craig offered to ride her bike down to his work which has a HUGE carpark so she could have a got without traffic worries. We were there for about a hour and we talked her into riding her bike home - she loved it - hopefully she's got a taste to keep going! Craig went home and I carried on riding did a full bays circuit - Oriental Parade, Evans Bay, Shelley Bay, Seatoun, Scorching Bay, Lyall Bay, Island Bay, Owhiro Bay then up through Brooklyn and back out on the motorway home. Got home feeling pretty shattered after that lot - it takes a lot of brain power - concentrating on every other silly driver on the road. However, there was housework to do and then we finally got a chance to sit down and watch some tellie - the movie Borat - anyone seen that - its pretty fucked up, if you havent seen it, dont waste your time. We were then showering and heading back into town to have another family dinner at my sisters place in Karori. Roast pork/lamb and more steamed veges! My family are fantastic for my diet! Although I did succumb to a piece of boysenberry gateau and some fresh fruit salad - but I managed to leave all the little caramello easter eggs to Craig and my brother! Got home about 9:30pm and crashed!
This morning ANOTHER early rise - its Monday and Monday's are gym days so it was off into town for a fantastic workout. No rest for the weary! Another beautiful day so once home we took Trude and the Harley out for a nice ride up Temarua, Mangaroa Valley, Whitemans Valley and then stopped at the Blue Mountains Cafe for brunch. I had a smoked chicken salad which was absolutely devine. The Cafe also runs Harley Tours from it - would recommend it for a nice relaxed dining experience - the food was awesome, the hosts were fantastic and the setting is just beautiful. There is so much to see there, bikes, nicnaks and it has a crystal shop there too. Again I carried on and went for a longer ride down to Eastbourne again, this time I stopped at the Days Bay Cafe for a Coke Zero. I was invited by 3 riders to join them at their table and we sat in the sun and talked for half an hour. They were very impressed I'd only been riding two weeks! LOL The lady Sheryl and I swapped phone numbers, she wants to ride the Rimutakas so we might catch up at some stage and give that a go! - very social pastime this motorcycle riding! I've clocked up 800kms on my bike in two weeks! LOL
So now its Monday night - I went for a walk with Jack around 4:30pm and now I'm feeling pretty shattered really - just had some lovely bb'd chicken and a gorgeous greek salad for dinner - thinking about my week ahead and all the STUDY I have to do! *gulp*
I dont really have time for working - I'll keep buying those yellow tickets!
Happy Easter!

Holy Moly girl you have had a huge full on weekend! But hasn't the weather been so wonderful!!!
I do love the photos of you and your darling - Trude that is! :) Though the one with Craig is great too :)
Will catch up during the week re your bible :)
Have a good short week.
I'd love to have a bike like that!!! Green with envy here. But wouldn't even attempt it until I've lost a little more.
Go girl! That looks like huge fun!
Sounds like you had a cracker Easter break chicken.
I also watched Borat on the weekend and absolutely hated it!
Andrew was having a good giggle every now and then but even he said he wouldn't watch it again.
Great to hear your getting Trude out for a few rides, winter will be here in no time (aren't I a little ray of sunshine?) and then it will be back to your cute yellow pocket rocket....:)
Great to see you are having so much fun with Trude:-) Your weekend sounded full on!
Wow! I don't know much about motorbikes (except that joseph used to ride one), but she sure does look gorgeous, and so do you!
Remind me to show you my motorbike scars sometime!
Don't ya just hate how the helmet squishes ya face and makes you look all wrinkly! LOL... and no, I didn't resist the bloody eggs, they came at me full tilt, friggin things! Had 1 and that was the end of resisting temptation....bugger.
