Wow I actually survived! The work went really well but I wasnt feeling so well. Had a really dicky tummy, like I had really mild food poisoning or just a bug, but I didnt know whether I wanted to throw up or not. Didnt feel like eating much and yet I was hungry - well thats what my brain told me and ocassionally I had wicked stomach cramps which wasnt very pleasant.
My eating this week, as predicted, was completely up the shit with all the eating out. The office that I worked at is a little out of town so they have on site caterers and I probably didnt make the best choices ... the roast beef and gravy sammie was to die for though. They also made the lightest bacon and cheese scones I've ever had YUMMMMMMMMMMO ... get the picture?
So I got to the gym twice while down there. Les Mills ChCh - very impressive, thoroughly enjoyed myself, but the last couple of days were a real effort getting out of bed. If I had have been at home I wouldnt have got out of bed! LOL. Our last night there, we got away from the office late and I was feeling pretty stuffed, but I managed to get out to Riccarton Mall and have a wander around. ChCh has a really impressive bus service! I got back to my hotel room around 9:00 and then fired up my laptop and worked until just after 11:30pm. It was a bloody long day but we had our close out interview with the management team on the Friday afternoon and everything needed to be pretty much squared up. Was great to meet the people down there, very friendly, very helpful. Work was different, not difficult, just lots to get through. Teh first couple of days was a truckload of information gathering and orienteering but then it miraculously kinda came together THANK GOD and I think I did my 2 cents worth so I'm pretty pleased with that. The week absolutely flew past. On Friday it really felt like we'd only just arrived the day before. Was pretty bizzare. I missed Craig and the dawgs - silly buggers that they are.
I just missed Felicity at Christchurch, only by about 10 minutes. It looked as though her flight was about 10 mins behind schedule and I was boarding my plane as they were unloading from their flight. Such a bugger!
Craig picked me up at the airport last night, it was a bumpy flight coming home, I'm sure we only landed on one wheel! :o However, I had full faith in our wonderful pilots as well the aircraft of course! LOL
Have to say, arent too impressed with the new AirNZ uniforms, pretty borin and dull.
This morning it was a full on day, up early for an electrolysis appt then went into hunter gatherer mode - butcher and markets for fresh fruit and veges YUMMY! I bought 4 shopping bags full of fresh produce for $12.50! Bargain was huge bunch of Silverbeet for .80c!
Had a wander around The Warehouse - got new shoe laces for my bootskates, some thick woolley socks and sheepskin innersoles.
My husband is a darling, while I was away, he cleaned up my bootskates - spit & polished, oiled and greased ... gotta love that man. So by the time I put the new laces on, they were like brand new!
Got to the rink just on 3, met Rachel! OMG that woman is a dag. LMAO! Jo was in her usual fine form, those two were just like me on ANZAC day when I first got back on skates. Laughed alot and wondered "what the f*%# am I thinkinggggggggggggggggg" LMAO @ us. Everyone was high tailing it round the rink in no time. Seriously, its just like riding a bike! I really worked up a sweat today, more so than any other time, probably all the excess wine coming out or my body still not feeling 100%?! We finished off our skating expedition with a coffee and lively banter at the Cossie Club.
I'm stuffed now, gunna head to bed I fink.
