I'm a bloody legend in my own underpants!
*proud*
Yep I donated blood. Something I've been wanting to do for years. Prior to losing weight I was always too chicken cos I thought they'd turn me down cos of my weight (which they would have) and more recently I had to wait 6 months after getting my tattoo.
It was really exciting! Didnt hurt and while it was pumping quite nicely into the bag the nurses kept coming over and asking if I was feeling ok. They knew I was a newbie and after about the 5th time they asked, to which I replied "yeah I'm feeling sweetas" I started to wonder if I was supposed to be feeling crook LMAO! Bit like when someone talks about fleas and you start itching teehee
So after my 500ml donation I got to have a cuppa, a cracker with vegemite & cheese and a macaroon bickie - which was all point counted and I was off and out of there.
Managed a walk this morning and another walk this evening (just a gentle one - nurses orders) and I'm feeling a bunch of fluffy ducks.
Work is still manic and I'm feeling shattered - will catch up with sleep this weekend I think - weather is suppose to be utter crap.
So today, besides just saving my life ... I've saved someone elses.
I rock!

Wooohooo for donating blood hun! I went to do it for the first time just after Christmas but due to the Miscarriages I had to wait 6mths which would have been Feb 06 but then of course I got pregnant and now I have to wait until I have had bubs and have finished breastfeeding as well... so perhaps in a years time I will be able to save someones life too!
I have been donating blood for a while now..... boy those 3 months come around quickly though. Didn't know there was a weight restriction on this - glad I didn't know else I would never have gone :) Have a nice weekend
Have a restful weekend!!
Well done with the blood donation:)
Well done on giving blood. I haven't been able to for nearly 3 years now (u aren't allowed when preg or breast feeding), but I used to do it lots. At the beginning it was mostly for the choccy biscuits after, HAH! I had given blood about 3 times and then the next time I was laying there feeling the life drain out of me for some reason, and nearly fainted. But all the times since then have been great! It's such a good thing to be able to do. I know working in the hospital we go through those bags of blood like you wouldn't believe!
Good on you for giving blood. I tried when I was 18 and kept fainting for 30 minutes afterwards, so I was told not to give blood again as I normally have low blood pressure.......Bugger!
I am not looking forward to this weekend with the horrible weather that has been predicted but hopefully they are wrong (which wouldn't be unusual).
