Calais is doing ok

I rang the surgeon just after 3 and he started with ... hello there Mrs ... yes the iris was protruding, however we were able to get to the cornea ... and I'm suddenly saying, i hope not because Calais was in for a knee operation! hehe ... apparently there were two dogs operated on with the same surname! How bizzare is that? LOL The surgeon then went on to say that Calais eye is looking absolutely fantastic and her knee has been operated on successfully. He expects a a good recovery for her. She needs to remain completely stable with no exercise or jumping around for 6-8 weeks.

6 - 8 WEEKS????????????? how the hell am I going to get that to happen when I have a 5yr old who wants to playyyyyyyyyyy with his older sister?

shit.

if I keep them seperated he'll cry and she'll cry, if i put them together outside they will jump all over the play, if i put them together inside they'll play a little bit, but they'll also be stuck inside for 8 hrs a day ... SHIT! I mean I knew i would have two weeks of stressful recovery but this has now changed to 6-8 weeks ... what was I thinking? hmmmmm i'm sure we'll think of something. if i could take my boy to work i would, i could put a little coat on him and pretend he's training to be a guide dog LMAO! I think they might work that one out though.

Anyway, my girl is doing ok, I'll get to pick her up tomorrow afternoon sometime.

Craig really does think I'm having a midlife crisis. He's mentioned a couple of times ... "when you grow out of this phase or when you've finished doing what you need to do" ... LOL Maybe I am having a mid life crisis, but damn it feels good! After years of being the fattie who didnt have the confidence to do new stuff and meet new people I feel like I've found myself again and within reason I want to give stuff a go now - like ... skating, like ... walking the Abel Tasman, like ... wearing togs in public, like ... wanting to go out for a drink, like ... wanting to go clothes shopping. Funny when I read that ... that is just every day normal day activity for most people - who probably dont even give a second thought. Ok well maybe the Abel Tasman thing might take a bit of effort LOL If its any consolation there are some things I have no desire to do ... bungy jumping, parachuting and um ... i'm sure there must be more, but I aint throwing myself off or out of anything.

So whats the difference about a midlife crisis for men or a midlife crisis for women? I'm 35 that aint midlife cos womens life expectancy is about 82yrs these days ... so that means ... I'll be hitting my life crisis just after I turn 40 ... WOOHOO another 5 years of madness BEFORE I hit midlife crisis stakes .... wow I wonder what craziness will strike me then?

hehe I can hear Craig groan already LMAO!
