Yep I did sleep well last night as predicted!
I managed to drag my butt out of bed this morning and went into work again this morning. Dont ask me how the hell I managed to do 5:30am walks when I was in my hayday ... I was either completely driven or completely mad LOL
I wore pants today and had this most amazing conversation with one of the girls ... who now has this blog link and will probably read this! *waves* ... hehe she said to me ... "did I hear you say you were a size 18?" which I currently am, my pants and tops are a perfect fitting 18 or XL. "but I'm an 18" she says, "and you are much smaller, I was looking at your backside when you were talking to *** and theres no way its an 18" I COULD HAVE KISSED HER AND THE GROUND SHE WALKED ON FOR THAT! LMAO! It's my height and frame, although I'm looking really slim now, I'm still 6ft tall with a modest frame and so I still need bigger clothing to fit properly. I am perfectly happy with that too - even being a size 18 has opened up a new world of opportunity clothing wise for me that was always out of reach before - of course having a new body shape with no rolls helps immensely also LOL
So another great morning at work, throw in morning tea and some more emails/phone calls and I was out the door at midday.
My sisterinlaw and my nephew came round, I took my nephew to the park to play while my SIL cleaned my house for the last time. What a godsend that wonderful lady has been to us - will miss that luxury thats for sure! The nurse also came for my last home visit. She showed me how to attend to the dressings myself now, so we will go onto self management now and report into the Hutt Hospital clinic once a week for a checkup/measurement - there will still be someone else keeping an eye on things and that makes me EXTREMELY happy. They also supply all the dressings/tapes etc going forward until I'm discharged from their care (about 6-8 weeks I expect). The nurse also showed me what my wound needs to keep looking like (its looking good now) and what signs I should keep an eye out for, but if I'm unsrue at any time, I can pop down the clinic and get them to check it all out for me. Really really impressed with the district nursing staff and processes they have in place - what a wonderful set up!
So Craig's just got home and we are heading up the club for a drink - will be nice way to finish the week. Long weekend this weekend - fingers crossed for fine weather I'm getting out on Trude - clear the roadways :p
