Yep lifes having a bit of a shake up again. There are now TWO competing athletes in the house. Well actually one partial athlete and one starting out athlete LOL
I seriously dont know how mum's and dad's manage their families - we have two dogs and thats challenge enough LOL So basically it went something like this - 5:00am Craig up and letting the dogs in for a cuddle - 30 minutes later, dogs get their breakfast and go outside for their business. I drag my sorry arse out of the pit and pack my bag because I was too lazy to do it last night. Craig packs his bag, we have a bit of a chat, open all the curtains in the house, let the dogs back in at 6:00am, have another cuddle with them, give them their toys, lock them up for the day and then we hit the road about 6:15. Got to the gym 20 minutes later and started working out *whew* and thats where my routine goes back to normal again. I didnt even really get a chance to see Craig working out - there were quite a few people there this morning and his gym program is quite different to mine (mine has extra cardio). I must make an appointment with Hamish and get another program done. My physio said it was quite ok to get back to normal and start building things up again - I forgot to make the appointment today - damn! I'll send myself an email to work! LOL
I had some left over potatoe fritatta and salad for lunch today it was bloody delish - I'm thinking I might make up some more over the weekend and put it into individual punnets in the freezer - that way I can just pick one out in the morning. I had it with 50gms of shaved ham and a huge side salad - topped off with a bit of fruit - delish.
When I competed in my triathlon, my mother-in-law filmed me and made it into a DVD! I took it to work today and we had a lunch time viewing - omg we were all laughing so hard because of the running commentary, corny background music and my silly waves and expressions everytime I saw the camera. LOL However, I felt so proud showing my workmates my achievement and even though I looked like a wombling hippopotomus when I run, at the end of the DVD all of them clapped and told me how bloody fantastic I was. *blush* What I love most about this journey is I am no longer the person who sits back and claps others achievements wishing it was me achieving them ... I am the person out there doing it - god life is fantastic when you get to that point! You lose all your inhibition and self doubt and know that if you really want to and I mean REALLY WANT TO, you CAN achieve anything you like. Just surround yourself with like minded people and its an equation that works.
Got quite a bit accomplished today - added bonus.
Had a gorgeous beef and black bean stirfry for dinner tonight, tried a new tactic to try and eat more slowly and understand that "full feeling" - we ate with chopsticks and I ate out of a bowl. Well by golly it actually worked - I was left completely satisfied plus had fun slopping the sauce all over myself *giggle*. Was finishing my points tally over dinner and found I was 5 points short for the day! 5 BLOODY POINTS - I havent been 5 points short in ... god knows how long. Now according to the rules I can only be a maximum 4 points short, so I made a cuppa WW hot chocolate and had a couple of WW cookies and finished off my day 3 points under. YIPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE for me.
Craig and I talked about his first gym experience - he enjoyed it and I'm so damn proud of him. It really only just clicked home to me today talking to him about how much of an effort it meant for him to walk into that gym today and join the world of fit and healthy. Us girlies always get self conscious ... people will look at our big fat arses and floppy tits - while boys dont typically have fat arses and floppy tits - they have that male ego thing going on and so just like us it takes guts to put all your anxieties, fears and self doubts aside and make the decision to go ahead a do something. He makes me so proud to take control of all those feelings and just go for it!
Tomorrow is going to be another challenging day for me - I'm offsite at a workshop being run by an external company - morning/afternoon tea and lunch are provided. I think I'll take a cereal bar and a couple of bits of fruit with me and hopefully there will be some good choices I can make at lunch. If not, I might have to excuse myself and shoot down to Subway or Holy Bagels :)
Fek, I think winter is back.

Yes, winter is back. My only consolation is the Auckland boss is coming down today so his landing will be vile!
It is just great that Craig has started the gym with you. Will help keep you both motivated with you going together.
