Lumberjack Leenie

Had the day off work today - on leave. Started by taking two cars and a trailer to VTNZ for their warrants. While we were waiting we went and had breakfast at Aromas Cafe. I had waffles and fresh fruit - it was devine! Managed to leave most of the cream on the plate so that was good. It was nice having breakie with hubbie, usually we are go go go in the mornings even in the weekends so its always nice to start the day together for a change.

Got home and started work on the tree out the front. I've been wanting to cut the bloody thing down for a few years now but it hasnt happened ... until today! Craig was the chainsaw master and I was the pruner as we wanted to save as much of it as possible for firewood! Talk about being self sufficient eh? LOL The tree was about 30 feet and there were two main uprights that we knew would be a bit of a challenge. When we got to those bits Craig tied a heavy duty rope around it - I was the anchor making sure it wouldnt fall on the house while he chainsawed. The first upright came down as planned, the second however ... Craig got half way through the trunk and I was pulling on the rope when the rope snapped and I went flying backwards landing right on my tailbone. HOLY FUCKING CRAPPPPPPPPPP I got such a fright I just lay there for a sec thinking I was broken LOL before bursting into tears and hyperventilating. Must have look bloody hillarious but shit it hurt. Craig's dilema was did he run over to me or stick with the chainsaw still stuck in the tree and the possibility of it falling back and hitting the house. I finally managed to get myself up, but could hardly walk. Took me a good 15 minutes to calm down and start moving again. I couldnt sit for ages because it was so tender. That was quite a few hours ago now and I'm still walking like I've got a carrot stuck up my arse.

However, the bloody tree is down now and the sun is pouring into our entrance way. We've decided we need to take a few more bits and pieces out now, but we'll leave it bare for a while until we work out what we want to do with the area. So the photos are now you see it, now you dont and me before I smashed my arse.

I had oats and banana for lunch. Still digesting breakie and just wanted something that was cheap on points and tie me over until dinner time. We are heading up the club for a few drinks and probably have dinner up there.

I managed to meet up with Karen for a coffee this arvo which was cool - we worked out we hadnt seen each other since our Palmy trip - which was FIVE weeks ago! Unbloodybelievable how quick that time goes!

I knew there was a reason why I didnt garden - its bloody dangerous - more so than skating! Hopefully I'll be able to skate tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!
