This time next week ...

it'll all be over!

Everything!

My short week at work. Craig's 40th Birthday piss up, my triathlon, our celebration brunch, my excitement of the build up and all that training I've been doing.

Holy crap!

I first registered back in um August I think it was ... August - it seems so long ago now.

6 sleeps to go WOOHOO

I think Craig is nervous, cos it means after this challenge has finished I'll be looking for something new! hehe

I want to go whitewater rafting. That will be my next BIG challenge. Oh and Queen Charlotte Sounds Walk looks pretty fantastic too. Anyway, lets not jump the gun just yet - I have a triathlon to finish yet.

I just feel so ready for it. Ready and pumped and raring to go. I dont have any hesitation or doubtful thoughts. I know I've worked hard, I know I've been training hard and I know I can do this. The scales are holding steady but my fitness has increased two fold. Even since completing the Abel Tasman I feel stronger and fitter. I can see even more muscle tone in my body and I feel pretty damn good about myself right now.

It was interesting because I was watching a doco on tellie tonight. On the Sky Food Channel it was about Victoria Wood the English comedian who went to California and interviewed fat people and those in the diet industry and it was just fascinating. At the end of the doco she was talking about how people are obsessed with what the scales say and how we feel about eating food. There is always that terrible guilt associated with food we "shouldnt eat". I might watch it again if it plays again, there were some interesting messages in it.

Ok, I've found something that really pisses me off. Apparently ... fat chicks arent suppose to exercise. Why? because if we were then there would be lots of exercise clothes available to us so that while we are sweating our arses off we will look ok doing it! I've been trying to find myself a pair of three quarter or bike short length lycra pants. So that I can wear them under my togs for doing the triathlon. Well I've tried all the usual places, The Warehouse, Farmers, KMart ... unless you are a size 16 and under - forget about it. I even had the stupid notion of going into Rebel sports and having a look there ... their "XL" was about a size 14 for fucks sake.

I believe there is a niche in that market ... maybe I need to open a store and import fitness gear for larger girls I'll call it "FAT girls" with the A crossed out and replaced with an I ...

hmmm there might be something in that.

Having a family picnic day tomorrow, should be fun if the weather holds out!

Wow what a huge week you have ahead of you! I don't comment much, just read but I was wanted to say GOOD LUCK for Sunday. I did the triathlon here in ChCh a few weeks back and I am still walking on cloud nine. Man what a feeling, so many emotions mixed into one! You will do well, you have been training hard. I will look forward to hearing all about it next week. You GO GIRL GO!
I just got my bike pants from The Warehouse, active range. I think they were a XXL. Some of The Warehouses didn't go that high so you might have to have a hunt around.
