Serious Serious Fun :)

Crikey were did the week go? I cant remember everything that went on in the last four days ... I need to keep updating so I can capture my life! Thats what I'm doing this for after all! I remember yesterday and I remember this morning so thats what I'll capture now.

Sounds pretty mundane but yesterday morning ... as per my usual routine on a Friday, I got up at 5:00am to go to the gym - only this particular morning I was having a buddy join me! WOOHOO. I managed to coerce Karen into coming with me hehe! She got on the train at Waterloo at about oh ... 5:55am and instantly complained of it still being the middle of the night and she was grumpy - ack ... suck it up woman! LOL She soon cheered up and we were working out and up a sweat before we knew it! Completed a full session, Karen seemed to cope with the arc trainer pretty well and together they were one! Good for her for giving it a go - new experiences can be pretty daunting some times! We had a coffee and bagel after our workout and then we carried on to our respective workplaces ... no rest for the weary. I felt pumped all day yesterday. It was a nice day and I guess in the back of my mind I knew I only have one week of work left before our camping trip WOOHOO!

We went up the club for a quiet drink last night and then had dinner at Mano's in Upper Hutt - I had meegoreng (delish) Craig had goat curry (also delish) sounds gross but it was really tasty - quite a strong meat textured like beef or lamb. We had a reasonably early night last night cos we had to be up early to go .... QUAD BIKINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I am hooked and seriously going to get my bike licence. We've also bought an extra lotto ticket so when we win we can buy ourselves a quad bike! LOL It was over at Kapiti Four x 4. I had a little niggle of self doubt about whether the waterproof pants or jackets would fit me - which of course was ridiculous, because they were fine. We were all kitted up and then on our bikes we hopped. Five gears, three brakes, four wheels - numberssssssssssssss arghhhhhhhhh. So after our guide gave us a quick run down on how to ride the bloody things we got taken into a paddock to have some practice mud puddles *giggle* I did ok, I think the guide relaxed knowing I wasnt going to trash his bike and off we went into our beautiful native bush. We did the two hour ride - we went through some amazing mud puddles, through creeks, some seriously deep carved tracks, steep slippery muddy slopes where we managed to get at least two wheels off the ground at times! We also zipped and zapped up (and down) gravel roads, down steep hills and straight down a rock face at one point! I think I smiled and excitedly squealed most of the way round the tracks. I only managed to stall once, I got stuck twice, I nearly canned off a path once, I just about pooed my pants 20 times at some of the sheer drops we went down but I thoroughly enjoyed all 180 minutes of fun, excitement, terror and adrenalin rush! And it wasnt even my birthday present! LOL Damn I'm going to do that again! It seemed to go really fast - like all good things do and before we knew it our two hours were up and we were back at base! The lovely lady there (Denise?) made the most amazing scones - light as air! with jam and cream - so those didnt even touch the sides and were quickly washed down with coffee - it was hot dusty work having that much fun! Craig then put ear plugs in, got handed a shotgun and blasted away at twenty clay pigeons - he did great - got about 12 of them! After all that excitement, we went up to Raumati Beach for lunch - and now we are home and just about to head out and pick up the sea kayak for our trip away. Got a bbq at a mates tonight and tomorrow will be housework and packing probably. Oooh hope to get a bike ride in too *winks @ Karen*.

What an awesome awesome day! LMAO!
