Hi Honey I'm Homeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I dont usually advertise that I'm out of town or not at home, call me paranoid but thats just the deal. I've noticed how many people are reading this blog ... fascinating! and its seems to be from all stretches of the world ... in 20 days there have been over 850 visits ... 49 in the last 24 hours ... so ... who are ya? I know most of the hits are coming from NZ and Oz ... and I think I know who most of ya are ... ooh and there is Lynda in the UK ... but USA (including the lil dot in Hawaii), Asia and Europe? Here I was thinking I was world famous in my own backyard LOL

This week I've been in Auckland for a conference. I have to say I felt completely out of my comfort zone. It was very much a men in suits, old boys network and at our dinner on the Wednesday night I was the only female on the table of 10. Men are silly creatures ... if we thought we were insecure they are 10 times worse. Most of the dinner conversation was around how important, high status, wealthy, impressive, fit, intelligent etc THEY were. One guy spent the most of the evening talking about his down hill mountain biking prowess and how expensive his bikes were, and interestingly enough I found out the marital and child status of each of them within the first couple of opening sentences of conversation. LOL It was a good conference, but after lunch on day two I was looking forward to getting the hell out of there - the artificial lighting at the conference centre was quite depressing. However it was an experience not to be missed and if I'm still working where I am now, next year I'll be going to the conference again LOL.

I never sleep very well when I'm away from home on my own, usually waking up every couple of hours to check the time before dozing off again. The hotel had a great gym though and so both mornings I was able to do 30 mins on the treadmill (half walking, half running!) as well as some weights and stretches ... again ... the only female at the gym. I've decided constantly travelling business people lead a very lonely artificial life - that is purely my opinion.

The highlight of my trip was Friday. I had a wander around the Victoria Park Market stalls, caught up with Kate and her beautiful babies for a coffee and a shop wander. It is absolutely wonderful being able to put real life personalities to faces and names. The world really is getting smaller, I was bummed I wasnt in Auckland on the Tuesday to get to the bloggers dinner!. After work I caught up with my friend Sandie and went out on the town with her and 4 of her mates. Went to an awesome pub with a live band, danced all night and drank too much red wine LOL

Yesterday I flew home at lunch time and was picked up by a very excited hubby - not because he missed me ... not that excitement LOL but more that the mad bastard had found a new family investment and had to show me ... IMMEDIATELY.

The new family investment .... 1999 Harley-Davidson 1999 Wideglide FXDWG

We pick it up next week, he gets excited and I give in so easy LOL ... I cant quite picture me on the back of it yet ...

I was absolutely bloody knackered by the close of play yesterday, we were in bed by 9ish and I didnt surface again until 8, the weather is total crap, bloody good reason to sit down and start working on some gifts to take away at Christmas ... ooh yesterday on the plane home I had the honour of sitting next to a couple who had won lotto and were just returning from a 5 month stint overseas. They were the most loveliest people I have met, in their 50's, completely unpretentious, just enjoying life and recently were blessed with never having financial issues again. Fantastic.

8 weeks to our trip.

Hi Helena,
I am one of your anonymous foreign visitors!! My name is Liz and I currently live in Singapore. I'm originally from CHCH. I found your blog through Karen.

I began reading when I was doing weight watchers because there isn't one here and i really needed the support to focus.

Hi
I'm one of your overseas readers. I'm Sandra - a kiwi who lives in the UK. When I discovered weight-loss blogs about 4 years ago they were mostly American and then I found a few in the UK but then I found Karen's and thought I'd enjoy reading NZ ones because it's 2 birds with one hit - I get to hear about home and get inspiration.
