Bootcamp without Exercise?

hmmmmmmmm thats exactly what its going to be! arghhhhhhhh

I went to physio this morning and sure enough ... its my archillies tendon and a couple of deep muscles beneath my calf. It's not ruptured or torn, just badly pulled/sprained. Prognosis is very positive as long as I RICE

Rest
Ice
Compress
Elevate

Along with antinflamatories and some very VERY gentle calf stretches. What caused it? who knows. Thinking back to last week I had a niggle most of the week but it was Saturday after my walk that I got home and thought ... ouch there is something wrong there. My physio will see me again on Friday, hopefully the inflamation/swelling has come down. I'm not taking any chances in aggravating it further, I'm home from work for the week and I'm "ricing" like there is no tomorrow LOL

The archillies is the tendon that runs from the heel bone up to the calf. If you rupture that baby you are talking surgery, cast for 6 weeks and 6 months of rehabilitation and there aint no way I wanna head down that track. Even this sprain is going to set me back 3 to 4 weeks before I can even think about doing what I've been doing the last couple of months in regards to my walking. We've talked about going back to the gym, she said she'd hope I can get back onto the stationary bike in a few weeks ... *bites lip* A FEW WEEKS! But I'm giong to be good, I'm going to not be a super woman because the thought of being out of action for any longer would kill me! LOL

Friday we'll discuss my next steps progress at the the gym. In the meantime I will start bootcamp without the exercise. I will have to ensure my eating is legendary or else I'll be bloating up like a balloon in no time. I've taken photos and new measurements and I'll set up a new web page soon to track these things.

For my sake I hope it absolutely pisses down for the next few days so I can sit with my foot up and icepacked wihtout feeling bad for not going out and exercising.

Cant keep a good woman down.

You do sound sensible in taking on board what the physio has said - hard though and I know exactly how you feel. Totally agree in that you can't keep a good woman down:) Take care.

BUGGER, bugger, bugger......!!!!
It didn't have anything to do with skating did it?

I'm sure it is going to rain this week *doing a rain dance as we speak* and you won't get that guilty feeling about not being out and about.
Fingers crossed that this week will fly by for you :)
