Well Crapolas

Went to physio today, and after some deep tissue massage, and much pain I might add the diagnosis is a very VERY tight calf. So lots of stretching, massage and going easy on the training required. Which then bades the question ... do I do the tri in three weeks or not? Do I risk doing myself more injury and potentially going away on holiday with calf problems? SHIT SHIT SHIT ... whadda I do?

Part of me says - rest the calf, I can do the other tri in the new year - its only $50, I need to be 100% for my trip! The other part of me says, if I take it easy over the next three weeks following physio advice, walk the tri and have the best of both worlds ...

Oh the dilema!

My advice is to decide closer to the tri. In 2 weeks you may be 100% again. And as you said you coudl walk the tri. Give it some time. I find stretching exercises twice a day make a big difference to injury recovery.

I'm with Michelle girl, keep it in mind rest and do your stretching etc and in a couple of weeks see what u think and definately walk it. You don't want to be hobbling around in London that is a once in lift time thing a tri u can do again another time...now if I could just tell myself that I could get out of doing one every weekend from Jan 21 till March 4. You look after Leenie

Ouch - keep those stetches going, and look at how you feel nearer the time. Can the physio hurry up recovery?

Don't risk it, you do have another tri to do in the New Year and there will be nothing worse than being on holiday with a sore leg.

You may be OK to walk the tri BUT WHAT IF..........is it worth it?
I reckon your holiday is more important than the tri ONLY because I know you have another one to complete, so you won't be missing out completely.
